Man’s best friend (or maybe a person’s best friend) needs a few extra considerations to be kept in the yard they’re suppose to be in!

Things of course depend a lot on the breed of dog you have however the standard fence used is a mesh fence that’s 120cm high with a lot more wire in it than for sheep being 12/120/15, so that’s 12 horizontal wires, 120cm high and a picket wire spacing of 15cm. This mesh is graduated, meaning the squares at the bottom are smaller to contain smaller dogs and get bigger as you go up.

This mesh is available in a gauge (thickness) of 2 or 2.5mm, as a standard we use the 2.5mm gauge since it’s good for light and heavy dogs and will last longer.

For some breeds the fence might need to be higher, scroll down further to read about Extra High Fencing and in some cases an apron might need to be installed for our friends that like to dig under the fence.
