Have an average you want to fence? Like many others you might want to have a rural fence or maybe you need to have a rural fence because it’s so stipulated.

The traditional rural fence is of course timber strainers and timber split posts with wire or fencing rails.

But even if you “only” have an acerage your boundary can still be pretty long and building a post and rail fence will get pretty expensive.

An alternative is to have a hybrid fence with post and rail feature elements for your entrance and maybe one or two corners and the rest is built with metal only components.

Metal only fences last at least as long as hardwood timber fences but are a lot cheaper to build and are a much lower visual barrier than post and rail fences.
