Goat Hire for Weed Eradication in the Hunter Valley & Newcastle

Looking for an eco-friendly, cost-effective way to manage weeds on your property? Our Goat Hire Service provides a natural solution to weed control, helping landowners, farmers, and businesses reclaim overgrown areas without the use of chemicals or heavy machinery.

Why Use Goats for Weed Control?

Goats are nature’s perfect weed-eaters. They efficiently clear land while enriching the soil, making them an excellent alternative to traditional methods. Here’s why you should consider goats for your weed eradication needs:

Eco-Friendly: No herbicides or machinery, just natural grazing. Also a great option for organic farms or vineyards who want to avoid usage off chemicals.
Cost-Effective: Reduce the need for expensive chemicals, heavy machinery and manual labor and they work on weekends and holidays!
Tackles Tough Weeds: Goats eat weeds that other animals avoid, including blackberry, lantana, fireweed and thistles.
Access Hard-to-Reach Areas: Goats can clear steep hillsides, rocky terrain, and dense bushland, which machinery can’t access, actually the more difficult the terrain the more the goats like it!
Soil Health Benefits: Their droppings fertilize the soil, promoting regeneration.
Fire Hazard Reduction: Grazing removes fuel loads, lowering bushfire risk.
Low-Noise, Low-Impact: Unlike machines, goats work quietly and leave the land undisturbed.
No weather restrictions: Goats still do their thing even if it’s muddy etc.
Reduce Regrowth: Goats reduce seed viability through their digestive process, where seeds are chewed, exposed to digestive enzymes and microorganisms, and usually damaged, leading to a lower chance of germination after being excreted. Pulling weeds by hand or slashing will often spread the seeds even further.

How Our Service Works

  1. Site Assessment: We inspect your property and determine the best approach.
  2. Goat Deployment: We bring in our mob and set up mobile electric fencing and a water supply as needed.
  3. Grazing System: For larger jobs we fence of an area of about 2000m2 and then rotate the fence until when the patch is done, normally every 1-2 weeks depending on density. Goats clear about 10m2 per day per goat, depending on density.
  4. Regular Site Visits: We conduct regular site visits to ensure goat welfare and that the job is progressing as planned.
  5. Post-Grazing Review: At contract end we collect the goats and our equipment and we provide maintenance advice where applicable.

Whether you need weed control for a small block, large paddock, vineyard, or bushland, our goat hire service is an effective and natural solution.
